Hi Stampie, very nice. the top image shows a Handley Page HP 42 the aircraft was the largest flying at the time in 1930/31. it was actually based in Cairo.. and originally built for the Africa and India services back then. The stamp is as you noted - a 1941 issue overprinted for the Cairo Aviation Conference of 1946
Yes DC3 in the other set
Nice display thanks for sharing ..

cddstamps - thanks for the info on the Handley Page HP 42.
Top stamp with RF issued in 1941 in France by Vichy Gov. but not sold in Cameroun until 1946. Bottom stamp without RF issued by Vichy Gov. but not placed on sale in Cameroun.
Edit: guess I should have read your blog first as all the above info was there. Cameroun has a lot of Airmail stamps but not a lot have planes on them. I could only find about half a dozen in my collection.
I will post them later if you don't already have them ready for posting.
Keep those posts and blogs coming. Very interesting.

Hi again, weekend over for me here so just wrote a short piece on the blog. summary comment..... only time for a quick show and tell tonight. This is one awesome stamp, especially if you like giraffes. Oh, and an aircraft, although again we cannot really see what type it is. So if I cannot talk about the aircraft, what about the giraffe. Well I am glad you asked, because this giraffe is the Kordofan giraffe and it is a species of giraffe found in northern Cameroun. And to think some say stamp collecting is boring. Never!!

HI . last one for Cameroun.. but before that a few questions. 1) do you all see the stamps I show? seems to take forever to load??? How can I make the images smaller? I don't have large image files I assure you. seems this is what lensdump gives 2) this is the last in the Cameroun series. so if anyone has a favourite aircraft or a country they want me to research aircraft on stamps just let me know. got 7 days now until we fly to London. so room for a few more posts from me read the blog cddstamps.wordpress.com may try to add some images while away. you never know waht you will see. aircraft only or aviation related of course. i1.lensdump.com/i/Ta8cpb.jpeg

cddstamps - all your pics look great to me. I scan all my stuff at 200 dpi with a few exceptions. Don't know if that would make any difference. In any case keep them coming.

many thanks for comments and feedback re images. been so busy getting ready to travel, UK then on to Oz. lots of paperwork, flights, hotels etc to get organised / collated as I am SO bad with that stuff, but this time I am nearly ready. Thinking of HK why did we not chose to fly from there? I think back and it was the HK Covid restrictions when we booked the tickets. oh well here is hoping all ok up to London via Dubai. PAL still not flying direct to London, damn shame that. so this stamp, one of my all time aircraft favourites as some may know. see you probably in 6 weeks. maybe sooner if I get the time and a computer and am not on the golf course somewhere. Am not into the phone sorry :-)
