First Poland piece and stamp. copying here but you can always visit my blog at cddstamps.wordpress.com I wont always write it all here, that might get too much so for the details and trivia do enjoy the blog Hello and welcome back to cddstamps on aircraft and aerophilately. A new topic at last. Took me a while but I have decided to try to write and show stamps from Poland. I have a few in my collection and no doubt will be adding more over the coming week or so. Let’s start right at the beginning with a stamp from the 1925 issue (Scott C3). A set of 9 stamps, all showing this LVG Schneider biplane I did not know and after reading I guess I cannot even pronounce it but LVG stands for Luftverkehrsgesellschaft m.b.H. It was a German aircraft manufacturer which began constructing aircraft in 1912, building Farman type aircraft. The company constructed many reconnaissance and light bomber biplanes during World War I. The raid on London in 1916 was conducted by one LVG. It dropped its bombs near Victoria Station, but was shot down by French anti-aircraft gunners on its way home. And all that from looking at and learning from stamps. What a wonderful hobby. I hope you will enjoy the Poland stamps that I will be showing over the coming days and week no doubt. I welcome readers comments. Just email me at cddstamps@gmail.com All the best, see you soon Michael cddstamps.com …. or visit my online store www.hipstamp.com/store/cddstamps where I have some interesting aviation related

free pair of cddstamps tongs -- really they are tweezers but lets no argue the point -- to the first reader to admit ( honesty please) they have flown on at least one of these aircraft. and if you say yes you should name the aircraft type

cddstamps, if you are referring to all the airplanes on stamps on this thread rather than just the three from Austria posted above, I can answer yes to having flown on a 747 back and forth to South Korea in the late 80s and 90s. I am referencing the stamp posted in this thread: tedtalksstamps.proboards.com/post/766

Aircraft on the Austrian stamp looks like a Boeing 707. Probably not.
And I am indeed reading your blogs. Well done. Concise. I like short writeups. If you're looking for a new topic, two of mine are "Cats on stamps" and "Stamps on stamps" Forget about the tongs. I am up to my ears in them. I think I still have the first pair I ever bought. Before that I was using eyebrow pickers. Try to pick up a stamp from a smooth table using those without using your fingers.
