Alright, Let me start off by saying I respect whatever you may wish to collect. Stamp collecting is a very personal hobby and subject to a multitude of tastes and preferences so please do not take this as being judgmental in any way....... But how many of you here are getting your albums ready for the Iron Maiden stamps? Iron Maiden win Royal Mail seal of approval with 12 stamps For starters, I was never a big fan of them. My mother forbade me to even listen to them, though their persona doesn't seem so bad compared to the majority of entertainers today. Secondly, I just am not interested in collecting stamps depicting entertainers - whoever they are. Monetary values aside they offer no appeal for me. But what are your thoughts? Are you an Iron Maiden fan? Maybe these stamps will go with the album covers and posters you still have hung up on the wall from the 70s and 80s. Are they interesting to you solely as UK postal issues?

I have to admit I just ordered these and the other Eddie sheet from Royal Mail - mainly because I am a big fan of the band, and the Goth in me does like the slightly dated artwork.

I noticed that the main stamps are concert pictures, whereas for previous music giant issues (David Bowie, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Queen), they've gone for album artwork on the main stamps. From an artistic point of view, seems a little lazy. Stamps are miniature pieces of art.
I'm a stamp user and am happy to use this issue for postage.
