I was wondering if anyone has a subscription to Michel Online. I tried the demo, and I don't like it at all. It is not a catalog, but a database which you have to search. Not only that, I haven't a clue how to use the search. There are 3 search term boxes: Area search, Area, and sub-area, with no instructions on what goes where, or how one particular stamp ID would even be divided into those designations.
I want an online catalogue, which I thought Michel had. Since I am boycotting Amos/Scott, and my major collecting area is Germany, I was hoping to be able to subscribe to a Michel Katalog online.Doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I really like flipping through catalog pages, you can jump to any section or year, put bookmarks in, whatever. I really don't like online catalogs, more typing and searching. I stop using Scott also, I use three catalogs, Michel Deutschland-Katalog 2005/2006, Michel Junior-Katalog and I just received the new Stanley Gibbons Germany 13th edition 2022 direct from Stanley Gibbons, this book is fantastic compared to Scott, Michel is still the best, have to buy the English versions Michel sells, German Empire and Berlin West. The online catalog is still available at www.briefmarken.de/michelshop/en/michel-online

Thank you. I too prefer physical catalogues, but if the price is compelling, I’m willing to go the digital route.

I have a subscription to Michel Online but am probably going to let it lapse as I just don't care for the format. I wish they would go to the model Yvert uses, which gives you access to all of their catalogs in book form online for one reasonable subscription price. However, to own a complete set of Michel catalogs hardcopy would run you about $3000 last I checked. Few if any are available in the digital catalog format anymore.
The easiest way for me to use Michel Online is to choose the country from the Area dropdown and just hit the Search and you will see the first X entries (default is 150) for that area. There are small pictures to help you choose which entry you want, then click to open it up and see the stamps and catalog values.
I dislike the online in part because it's easier to scan pages for stamps than their online listings, plus they removed all the charts and tables such as those for when you have a series of stamps spanning many catalog number groups.
What I do like about Michel Online is that they have translated many of the catalogs to English if you choose that option for language. And the price is quite reasonable I think. They even give a discount to APS members!

I stand corrected; Michel appears to have restarted putting out 'E-book' versions of their catalogs for online. This seems to be limited to mostly new editions of the catalogs as not all of them are available online (Germany of course is, E9-16 only for Europe, and maybe half of the 'Ubersee' catalogs) I can buy North America (Ubersee 1.1) for 91.59 euro hardcopy or 64.49 euro for e-book.

Thanks, Jerry. I went ahead and got the German Reich E-Catalog (in English). Seems like none of the publishers (except YT) can grasp how users want to use (and pay for) an online catalogue. Stampworld.com, I feel, has the best user interface. Too bad they are not as comprehensive and authoritative as any of the big guys.

I can't wait to see what Scott tries to do this year. I am wondering how much of a success their new digital model was and what they will try to do to force catalog sales they are certainly losing. There are only two alternatives that I know of if you want to value your stamps using Scott numbers and those are the EZ Stamp software (which I've tried and really don't care for) and StampManage (which I haven't tried yet). Because at some point Scott is going to quit supporting the 'old system' where I can view my online purchased 2020 catalogs.

There are no prices, but all the big catalog numbers on each stamp.
