Hi everyone,
My name is Ivy and I'm from Scotland! I'm rather new to the world of stamps and philately (having started my first ever collection last year), but I'm having fun learning and growing my collection.
I mostly collect India/Jaipur Feudatory State, but I dabble in a few other things.
I may not know much about what's going on, but I'm eager to learn and see everything!
Hope you're all doing well

Welcome, Ivy. We’re glad you’re here. I’d be interested in hearing how you started collecting. It’s not every beginner who jumps right into the Feudatory States.

Thank you! I'm glad to be here.
My local (small) philatelic society put an advertisement in our town newspaper. I was already into postcrossing so I decided to go along and visit, and see what it was about. Needless to say, I was hooked haha! I did start with just everywhere in the world, but quite quickly got overwhelmed with the amount of content so narrowed it down to India, as I like the artwork a lot. From there a lot of late-night stamp forums/websites/videos found feudatory states. I do like my more niche subjects and I started reading and learning about feudatory states which brought me to Jaipur, as I love the designs of the stamps and was interested in the history. It was at least 2 months into stamp collecting I switched to specifically India/Jaipur. (though I dabble in other things haha).
So it's been quite a journey for a year let me tell you! But I've enjoyed every minute of it haha.

Hi Ivy, Very cool story, and I would say rather unusual amongst collectors that I've encountered. Great to have found a niche that you like so much so early on. Love the stamp you have chosen for your avatar. I see why you are drawn to these.
See you around. Cheers, Scott

Hi Scott, Thank you for your kind words. I must admit I joined a philatelic society very early into my stamp collection. It's the whole reason I started really as it is stamps and postcards and I did a lot of postcrossing before. So they've been wonderful and I've been inspired by a lot of the collections they've shown to society. Which has kind of helped motivate me and my collection too. I do love my Jaipur stamps a lot, once I'm happy with how they're sorted in my album I'll probably share them.

I am also anxious to see and read about your stamps. The whole feudatory states topic is baffling to me. Welcome.
