Hello everyone,
I am Chris from The Netherlands. I thought it was about time I show my face here too. Ted mentioned the forum in previous videos and since his last video I think it is important to be here.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that helped this forum build. All members that log in regularly and building a community.
I think it is crucial that this happens. Although there are other forums out there, the biggest (I pressume) out there is not a nice and welcoming place.
I therefor hope this forum continues to be helpful and welcoming to both unexperienced and experienced collectors or philatelists.
A little bit about myself:
As a kid I collected stamps for a few years but then lost interest when I was in my teens. Now that my kids have grown up quite a bit more, and that I have went from a 40-hour job to a 32-hour (a week) job, I find I have some more time. I picked up stamp collecting about 2-2,5 years ago again. My interests have been all over the place in what I'd like to collect, and partly they still are. I have somewhat embraced that now. There are some areas of interest that are stable, but every now and then I am drawn into more areas of interest and I feel more like a world wide collector.
I also started a YouTube channel half a year ago just to share my journey into stamp collecting. My main rules are I make content I would like to watch and I only release a video when it is done, rather than force myself into a set schedule. I am not here to plug my channel, but I do hope I can draw some viewers/subscribers to here. From the emails I received, quite some people mention it is hard to find like-minded collectors or people to swap with.
If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask them. I am not an expert on anything really, but I am here to help and to learn and I hope I can add and return a bit to the community.
Thanks you for taking the time to read this!
