I've got a small favor to ask of everybody. I know there are some people who are averse to using their real names on the boards. I don't mind, as I know there are good reasons for it. But, speaking for myself, I am more comfortable when I can address someone by their name. I think it makes for just a little closer sense of community. Plus, some screen names can be cumbersome or awkward to use as forms of address. I would like to suggest that people sign off their posts with their name, a nickname, or however they would want to be addressed in person. I appreciate your support. Ted (the Talking Stamp Collector)

When I wake up in a Soho doorway, they call me k, which is easier than saying khj (aka as Kim). I tend to use the abbreviated form, to avoid confusion with some dude in North Korea. k PS -- don't ask me what names my wife calls me...

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Supreme Leader with a Dr Pepper. Which, brings up a question: How do I create a DP emoji?

In the spirit of this request, I've modified my signature to show my preferred moniker.

Does this mean I have to address Ted as Claude from now on?

Sigh, I miss Redd Foxx. Sanford and Son was a lifetime ago... they don't make shows like that anymore -- for good reason.

And, because 'tis the season for reflection, from way back in the time capsule:
So strange, and one of my favorites!
(Have we gone way off topic now? lol)

I haven't used proboards for a very long time. But back in the days, I went by purrfin, so when I login here, they recognized me as only purrfin. I'm not sure if I can change my name. In the meantime, I would like to add it to the bottom. I'll finger it out when the coffee hits. Coffee hit and I did it! K, is that the avatar Dianne made you? Ted, we need cats and hearts in the emoji pickings. Luree

K, is that the avatar Dianne made you? Yes, it is! Unfortunately, I only have the mini-thumbnail version. They allow much higher avatar resolution these days. k
