Hungary 199-203, 4 of the 5 values in the first issue of stamps from the short lived (and deservedly so) Hungarian Soviet Republic in 1919. Creepier stamps have seldom been issued.

Hungary 917-19, Peace Activism, 1950, unused hinged. Peace was a classic East Pac propaganda theme. The East European nations during the Cold War were just falling over each other with interminable peace conferences and co-operative congresses and what not. At any rate, I've decided to collect Hungarian stamps of the early Cold War period because I like the art. I enjoy it whenever a nation has a consistent style in their stamps. And Hungary also has lots of imperfs, which I also like.

Hungary sc 486,20f souvenir sheet, 2nd Hungarian Philatelic Exhib., 1934, mnh. And I have a soft spot in my head for classic souvenir sheets. I have slightly more than any sane person should have. I'll show more over time.

I'll show more over time. I have the same SS in my collection. I used to bid on box lots in auctions and in one bankers box lots this sheet was listed as one of the highlights. I put in a bid of around 40 % of this one sheet and was the winning bidder. This lot was listed as a "junk" box so was not expecting much more than the sheet even if it was in a bankers box which is not a small box. Well it turned out to be one of the best bargain lots I have ever bought. There were thousands of stamps/covers/etc. and I only threw out maybe 5% of the whole box. Nice junk. I guess one man's junk really is another man's treasure.

One of my favorite souvenir sheets, and a great addition to my classical music collection.
