Ted, I am curious why you started a new forum.
Some forums start like the saying "Make like a Baptist Church and split" over some disagreement. Some are created by refuges trying to avoid nasty moderation on another forum. I know you are aware of several other forums. Or, it could be just a platform as part of branding.

Yes, to your last point. I wanted to have a forum where viewers of my YouTube channel could further discuss any topics talked about in the episodes (although that has failed to materialize), and I didn’t want to upset other forums/owners with a lot of “off-forum” outsider discussion, knowing how protective these forums can be about their own private space. I am open to anybody and everybody talking anything philatelic, whether it’s your collection, your store, your blog, or even your own forum. I am open to having freely available information from anybody to everybody.

I personally am very happy that you started this forum. I've connected with some "lost" friends! Thank you so much!

I am also happy that you started this forum. Thanks.
When we had a stamp club here I was able to trade/sell/etc with collectors in real life. But the club folded some years ago and all that ended. Then I found a couple trade sites on-line and that worked just fine. then I came across stampbears and things got even better. From stampbears I got to hear about ted talks stamps forum and here I am. Now I have one more outlet to dispense my overabundance of some stamps. Being a lifelong collector/accumulator of anything stamps, I use my giveaways thread to thin out my books/boxes. Also the trade circuits are great but the problem with them is I only get more stamps. I could sell on e-bay but it's just not worth the hassle. Did that for a few years. Now it's just a fun thing and maybe help someone fill in a few spots in their books from my giveaways.

I'm really appreciative of this forum as well. After Hipstamp moved their forum to Discord, I just couldn't stomach it. I guess there's more interaction with the staff about "site issues" and if I had a site problem, I would go there for support, but as a discussion forum, it's turned in to the Junior High hallway experience, which is not to my liking.
So this is my new home. I haven't had much time to do much philatelic writing in the last few months due to heavy workload, but in my world, that comes and goes, so I will be back and prolific soon enough. (I can currently see a light at the end of the tunnel).
So I'm really happy that this forum exists. I was previously "banned" from a forum for suggesting an improvement that the site owner didn't like in the "Feedback forum" of the site. Really turned me off on forums for several years actually, because what I suggested was 1) just a suggestion... they could have ignored it, but instead chose to ridicule me over even suggesting it (It was something like "can we have a way to recognize a really useful post") so just patently some site owner who thinks that trolling their contributors is a good idea... and 2) it WAS a bloody feedback section! I made the mistake of thinking the owner was actually interested in improving the site. Anyway, as they say, their loss, and now you lot are stuck with me. ><

I am very happy this forum was created. I think ClassicPhilatelist and I had a similar experience. We shouldn't forget there are wonderful people in the (philatelic) world, but also some really bad ones. I have been on forums where their attitude is actually causing this hobby to be not inclusive. I am happy I found a nice forum here now :-)

Well said Chris. Philatelic forums shouldn't be about fiefdoms or Jr. High hallways. I'm so glad Ted has brought this to us all.

Glad you did this Ted. Discord is a joke IMO. And, Similar to Classic, I have been permanently banned (5 times now...the phoenix rises) from that jerk Aussie's site. Another good forum (IMO) is Stamporama.
