When researching this stamp, Scott's mentions "grilled gum". My question, if the gum was grilled and was a used stamp and said stamp was soaked, would you still be able to see the grilling? Look at that, I did a picture!

Yes, the grills appear on the paper, on these Swiss issues.

The grilled gum stresses the paper. You can usually still see the grilling even after the gum is removed. You might not see it when the stamp is still wet, but it should appear after drying.

Holding the stamp at a 90 degree angle to a light may help you see the grilling (I don't mean your BBQ grill, though).

Just so I have the right grilling can you click on the image and see the grill marks? When I tilt the stamp at a 90 degree I don't see it, but that could be the lighting, the glasses or the eyes.

Yes purrfin, your stamp in the OP is definitely grilled. Now I'm hungry for a grilled cheese sandwich...

Yes, the grilling is clearly visible on your scan. The ungrilled paper will show a regular smooth surface.

Thank you, Kim and Ted, for verification. I will be listing that one in a few days.
Now, lets get the grill ready for some ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs and corn! Oh yum.
